Mid night sun set and moon rise

Few weeks back, I was in Fredrikstad, Norway. The place is in southern Norway and popular for many small islands, fishing, boating and summer picnic. Many people are seen camping in islands for weeks and moving to other places. We enjoyed the day in a boat, fishing, having barbecue in one of the island, watching midnight sun set, and full moon rise as soon as sun sets. The sunsets and moon rise pictures are in a difference of half an hour. Perfect natural beauty one can experience in life time.

Nepali momo in Norway

This week we could steam momo. Buff momo is the best momo for Nepalese taste but we could only steam lamb, chicken, and pork momo due to food restrictions of each friend. Momo making is a time consuming job but tasty momo at the end really makes you happy. Enjoy!

Dumping site to recreational park

Long island (Langøyene in Norwegian) is a summer destination for picnic, swimming, fishing and camping. Take a ferry from Oslo (near to DFDS area) and reach the place in about 15 minutes. You may not suspect that the island was once used for dumping of waste. The island does not have any sign of dumped waste due to green park, beach and other facilities for summer outings. You can see Oslo city from Langøyene in first picture.

Nepali School Norwegian flag

More than fifty Nepalese are in Aas, one of a Norwegian city near to Oslo. Most of them are associated with Norwegian University of Life Sciences doing different degree courses. While staying in student apartments, one can see the pentagon student hostel monument (second picture) and parking area for students. Nepali student's children also study in Norway and in the picture, they are performing Nepali dance during their graduation day. The fourth picture is of Norway flag representing the culture, place and land proving opportunity for many Nepalese.

Colourless water reflecting blue sky and green plants

Today, the favourite pond reflected the blue sky on it. It seems that the sky is covering the water. However, the water is just reflecting it and also tree and grasses. The white flower of water lily is perfect combination of sky, land and water in the picture.

Cyclic form of nature

Four pictures are from same area. The first is taken from a distance compare to other three. The first was also taken during winter so you do not see flowers in the garden and leaves in the big tree. The second is during spring season and plants are developing fast. Third and fourth are at the stage of flowering (same place taken from opposite directions). Flowers are of same season but in two shifts. After the tulips, marigolds were seen. Marigolds remind me of Dashain and Tihar in Nepal.

बन झाक्री र दीयो

The troll is one of the souvenir from Norway. May be the concept and philosophy behind troll in modern days is less concern but the existence of these structures shows that there were believers in past. A big structure at Holmenkollen (first picture). In other philosophy like in Hinduism and Buddhism, fire (lamp) is an important part of religious and supernatural powers. Here is the modern form of that type of lamp (दीयो) in developed countries. You can see flowers on sale at a departmental stores and a Norwegian farm house.

Indoor coffee plant

While visiting one of the Norwegian house, I could capture a coffee plant with coffee seeds. Wow! cold and snowy country and tropical coffee plant. This plant is not for coffee production. It is just a single plant serving as decorative or indoor flowering like plants. Second is just a long and steep elevator in a train station. Street light post at night and a biodegradable plastic, which I have seen for the first time.

Natural resources

On the way to Bergen-Oslo, one can see beautiful natural scenes. The snow peaks even in summer, white springs flowing from green forests, hill roads and turns, and rivers are some of the resources attracting visitors in the area. They are of course important in generating electricity through hydro power plants.

Historic city Bergen

Bergen is touristic and historic city of Norway. "Bryggen", The Hanseatic Wharf in Bergen has been listed in world heritage site by UNESCO. Old merchant quarter built in medieval tradition is the only preserved business district. Bergen city seen from Mount Fløyen (third picture) and Bergen aquarium.

Naked sods at vigeland park

Vigeland park of Oslo is also called as naked park though it has nothing to do with nakedness in general. Check the iron sods.

Again Tulips

White, yellow, red, and green. Where are the other colours?
